Usability and user experience have been taking more and more relevance in the last years due to the great evolution of multimedia products. The relationship between users and digital devices is today closer than ever, that’s why the companies of digital products are constantly looking for new styles of interaction to surprise and cultivate loyalty to their users. To get a satisfactory user experience technical quality of the product is not already enough. Currently the factors that motivate and satisfy users often rely on emotional, aesthetic and functional aspects; this course will be focused in the study of those factors, on how to improve the user experience taking in account the determining factors that really affects them.
This course is oriented to practice, the students will be briefly educated on existing UX methodologies just enough to be applied in a real context.
The first week students will work in rapid prototyping in Almere. The second will test and improve their prototypes in the Userlab (User eXperience Laboratory) in Barcelona using agile methods and advanced usability tools as the Eyetracker.
In two weeks the student will gain a comprehensive knowledge in a user centered design development and concepts of subjective exploration tests in a web development.
