Structural Equation Modeling

About

This course is offered as part of the Radboud Summer School in Social Research Methods, in collaboration with MethodsNET (a global network that offers excellent training in social research methods).

This course on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) covers models with observed and latent variables. We show the possibilities of SEM in a simple way, without neglecting the complexities of SEM.

Course leader

William M. van der Veld Research methodologist Behavioral Science Institute Radboud University

Target group

-Master
-PhD
-Post-doc
-Professional

This PhD level course is open to all researchers aiming at bringing their research to the next level. It is particularly designed for those who are interested in (further) developing their knowledge about model evaluation, multi-group analysis, measurement invariance, and longitudinal analyses.

Course aim

After this course you are able to:

-Specify and estimate models using LAVAAN
-Evaluate and test these models, while realizing this is the Achilles heel of SEM.
-Test between-group-differences in a proper way.
-Perform longitudinal analyses in SEM.
