The Summer School, organized by the GECOAGRI LANDITALY Interuniversity Research Group Association in agreement with the University of Foggia and APS, aims to promote awareness processes related to the water resource, using an interdisciplinary approach. The reality of Rieti (Rome, Italy) becomes the undisputed protagonist as an open-air laboratory in which to critically observe the kaleidoscopic forms, actions and relationships that water systems offer in a dimension of sustainable development with regards to environmental, economic and socio-cultural aspects. The lessons will be held by university professors, qualified experts from different disciplinary fields and with a high international scientific profile. The objectives of the courses aim at acquiring in-depth knowledge and specific skills on the issues of water in relation to the environment (natural frameworks, opportunities and risks); to the territory (planning, management, development and control) and to the landscape (tourist, cultural and social enhancement). The educational activities will make use of innovative experiences through the use of new technologies, laboratory activities and scientific excursions in the Rieti area.
Scientific Committee: Maria Gemma Grillotti Di Giacomo (President of the Interuniversity Research Group Association GECOAGRI LANDITALY, University Campus-BioMedico, Rome), Eugenio Cejudo Garcia (Department of Human Geography, University of Granada); Thomas Dax (Federal Institute for Less Favoured and Mountainous Areas Vienna, Austria); Pierluigi De Felice (Department of Studi Umanistici/DIPSUM, University of Salerno); Marilena Labianca (Department of Economics, University of Foggia); Marco Petitta (University La Sapienza, Rome); Isabella Varraso (Department of Economics, University of Foggia).
