The Summer School “Egyptologists as museum curators: an immersive training” is an academic programme offered by the University of Pisa in collaboration with the Museo Egizio in Turin. The main objective of the School is to provide a theoretical and practical approach to ancient Egyptian objects as part of a collection. Every object is an accumulation of different stories, both ancient and modern, ranging from its production, use, deposition, discovery, up to its acquisition, conservation and display. The school will offer the unique opportunity to tackle Egyptian objects from all these different angles, from theoretical to more pragmatic perspectives, exposing participants to a variety of museum practices thanks to an immersive experience in a museum environment.
