PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

- SUBJECTS:

o Geopolitics: Examine the interplay between politics, power and geography
(human and physical-territory, resources, strategic access).
o Geoeconomics: The interplays between economic phenomena and geopolitics, the increasing economic tools used to achieve political objectives and the link between geography and economic trends.
o International Secutiry: Study new forms of crisis and conflict, controversial military interventions, international terrorism, peace and war studies and more.
o International Conflict Management: Discover the main forms of conflict and the various resources and mechanisms used to solve conflicts.
o Global Political Economy: Study the evolution of international and transnational economic relations.
o International Organisations: Explore how international organisations are developed, their institutional structure, their decision-making process and the responses used to address global challenges.
o Global technology Strategy: Investigate the use of technology in dierent organisations.
o Ethics in Global Governance: Study of ethics as the guiding principle of Global Governance.

- SEMINARS:

o Global Governance Seminar: Asia / Latin America / Middle East / Africa: In these seminars, you will examine the most important economic, political and legal issues in various regions of the world.

- ACTIVITES:

o Visit to the United Nations Delegation in Spain: Guided tour of one of the most important international organisations in the world, the United Nations.
o Debates – Case studies – Mock UN sessions: The classes will be supplemented with dynamic activities such as debates on current affairs and discussions of real-life cases. You will also participate in mock UN sessions, in which students will play diplomats: you will be assigned a country to represent at the session and you will have to resolve some of the challenges currently facing the global community.
o Discover Barcelona: While studying, you’ll be able to enjoy one of the world’s most cosmopolitan and international cities: Barcelona.

ACCOMODATION

Located in Barcelona, Esade offers an outstanding summer experience in a fascinating city full of Mediterranean flair. Barcelona has become a premium study abroad destination thanks to its cosmopolitan atmosphere, the architecture and the beauty of the city itself and its surroundings.
The interested students can stay at The Sarrià University Hall of Residence, located very close to Esade’s Barcelona-Pedralbes campus. Designed specifically for students, this new building features various spaces for work and study, as well as a computer room. If you need to unwind, you can stroll through the gardens or visit the pool and sunroom on the top floor. Residents also enjoy free Access to Can Caralleu, a sports centre located across the street.

Course aim

The Esade’s Global Governance Summer Programe is for undergraduate or recent graduates students who want to gain a more global perspective and a deeper understanding of topics such as Geopolitics, International Organizations, Geoeconomics and study the most relevant legal, political and economic issues of the different geographical areas of the world.

Fee info

EUR 0: €3.100 (special early-bird fee of €2.800 valid until March 2022). The fee includes tuition and lunches at Esade. Housing is not included.
