NewSpace has become an increasingly widespread concept in various types of space missions due to the standardisation, the relatively simple design and the low cost of small satellites, making space more accessible and making it available to practically anyone. This course addresses the paradigm shift from large, complex, expensive satellite to constellations of small satellites. The first generation of satellite constellations (Iridium, Globalstar, OneWeb, SpaceX) is being replaced by a new generation based on the NewSpace model, (Planet, Spire, Astrocast, and others in China and more countries). Small satellites aimed at different missions can be developed in a university environment, integrated in the educational offer, with the participation of faculty, students and also the space industry.
