Course aim
The need for innovation in products and services to compete effectively in a global economy is a core driver of organizationalstrategy. This course combines both the theory and practice of innovation and uses the double-diamond approach to show students how to use design-thinking to develop new products (goods and services).
On successful completion of this unit you will be able to:
• Understand the product and service innovation process;
• Analyse market trends and apply creativity and investigative skills in product and
service innovation through practical application; and
• Apply the skills of innovation to design product or service concepts and prototypes
that reflects global trends within the legal and ethical boundaries of a socially
responsible approach

Participants can receive the following certificates:
- Certificate of Attendance: awarded after the summer school to all participants who have completed the three-week programme.
- Transcript of Records (with credits and grades): awarded only to participants who complete all course requirements and pass the final examination.
