EU Diplomacy: challenges and opportunities
The Summer School is organised in the context of the EUDIPLO project. It is based on a teaching programme of 28-30 hours of lectures/seminars given by experts coming from academia, think tanks (such as the Institute of International Affairs, Rome) and the European External Diplomatic Service.
At the end of the programme the students may choose to take a test.
Course leader
Prof. Sara Poli
Target group
Students of political science and law or who did EU studies in other fields of studies.
Course aim
The summer school aims at providing students of political science and law interested in the EU external relations a broad overview of the EU diplomatic activities. It is expected that the summer school will deepen the knowledge of the students on EU’s role as a diplomatic actor in the global arena.
The direct contact between the participants to the summer school and the teaching staff will stimulate the students to undertake the diplomatic career or a career in international organizations or at the European External Action Service.
The summer school will also internationalise the academic activiities of the University of Pisa. Since the school features a high international prole, it should lead to the establishment of a cooperation network having a permanent character amongst the organisers of the summer school, the members of the network and the scholars and experts invited to teach in the summer school.
