when 5 August 2013 - 9 August 2013
duration 1 week
credits 1.5 ECTS
fee EUR 675

Never mind new media or social media, good old radio is more popular than ever! Digital, FM or streaming, live or as a podcast, the magic of radio never loses its appeal to millions of listeners. Learn how easy and how much fun it is to produce your own radio show. Recording, editing, presenting, interviewing, hosting, you will learn everything you need to hit the airwaves yourself. And in this course there will be some real broadcasting too! You only need a computer and the Internet to start your own (campus) radio station once you’re back. And so gather experience for a career as a journalist.

You will be expected to work, both individually and in teams, towards pre-established deadlines for which effective time management and communication will be essential.

Part of the course will be conducted at the premises of RNTC in Hilversum using its professional radio/audio facilities and equipment.

RNTC is the international training centre of Radio Netherlands Worldwide, the Dutch International Broadcaster.

Preparation: look around for examples of ‘Good Old Radio’ that you like and bring them with you; think about what you expect from the course and what you hope to do as a Radio Producer and Presenter.
