This course presents the main challenges of digitalization in corporate finance. On the one hand, it will focus on the purpose of corporate finance: the three financial states and explore how to analyze them. On the other hand, the digitalization in corporate finance. Based on reading academic articles, the course gives an overview of the main changes due to digitalisation in
the different business lines of corporate finance (accounting, management control, audit, banks...), on the skills required for future managers and in the development of new financing methods. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Read and analyze the three financial statements (balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement)
- Conduct an assessment of a company’s financial health.
- Understanding the main impacts of digitalisation in finance business lines (accounting, management control, audit, bank...), on the skills of future managers and on the development of alternative financing methods.
- Read and critically review academic articles.
