Ceramic Prints
This year, the Barcelona Visiting School continues its research into 3D printing technologies, wine architecture and design in order to develop a series of ceramic containers for the act of winemaking.
Course leader
Edouard Cabay, Carles Sala and Relja Ferusic
Target group
The workshop is open to current architecture and design students, PhD candidates and young professionals. Software Requirements: Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, Grasshopper, CAD Software. Prototyping and fabrication skills are also required.
Experience in digital manufacturing and digital fabrication (3d printing technologies)
Course aim
We seek to introduce computational design and contemporary digital manufacturing techniques to the winemaking process, in pursuit of novel approaches to fabrication.
Three-dimensional printing technologies will be central to our methodology, enabling us to design, prototype and process data. Working within a leading Catalan winery, participants will design and make ceramic winemaking vessels at 1:1 scale with the object of producing a few litres of wine.
