The Palacky University Olomouc (in particular the project “The EU in the Volatile Indo-Pacific Region” - EUVIP) invites you to participate in the upcoming summer school titled "Navigating Geostrategic Dynamics in the Indo-Pacific: Focus on Southeast Asia and Myanmar."

Explore the nuances of geopolitical power dynamics in the Indo-Pacific region through our summer school program. Discover the EU's relations with this vibrant region and gain insights into the strategic responses adopted by Southeast Asian countries. Additionally, the program grants you the opportunity to explore the recent developments in Myanmar by highlighting the various approaches taken by regional stakeholders in addressing the ongoing crisis and exploring various aspects of Myanmar itself, from its history to ethnic issues and its role in international relations.

Moreover, our dedicated courses on theories and methodologies will enhance your research capabilities in Indo-Pacific and EU studies. You will also have the chance to deepen your understanding of academic practices through an introduction to open-access research and policy paper writing.

Target group

The summer school is open to PhD and advanced Master's students with a background in Social Sciences and the Humanities, such as Politics, Philosophy, Economics, or International Relations.

Course aim

This programme is designed to broaden students' knowledge of geopolitical dynamics in the Indo-Pacific and also acquire practical skills that will allow them to contribute meaningfully to research and policy discussions.

Fee info

EUR 0: articipation is free of charge and lunches will provided for the whole duration of the summer school.

Scholarships

We offer up to five stipends for accommodation (specified in the application part).
However, please note that travel expenses will not be included.
