Take a critical look at sustainability concepts in natural and social sciences. Examine development endeavors and uncover limitations. Identify opportunities for shaping a sustainable future and generate approaches for action.

Target group

The academic program is suitable for Bachelor, Master or PhD students from a variety of backgrounds, e.g. Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biotechnology, Geography, Geosciences, or related disciplines dealing with interdisciplinary international approaches.

Course aim

Each year, scientists from natural and social science fields take a closer look at a specific topic from the field of global change. Your participation offers you the unique chance to discuss current scientific positions from multiple perspectives with experts from the fields of chemistry, geography or geosciences and others. Share your ideas with international peers and students from Germany in an interdisciplinary setting. You will gain hands-on experience during field excursions, discover Mainz and its surroundings during cultural visits, improve your language skills and get to know students from all over the world. Fee info

EUR 210: Arrangement includes: Course fees, accomodation with breakfast, catering coffee breaks, welcome and farewell dinner, cultural program/excursions, transfer for excursions. Travel, insurance and visa must be organized and paid independently. Lunch and dinner are at your own cost. There are reasonably priced catering options on campus.
