The programme is focused on archaeological excavation of a medieval ruin of Rokštejn Castle (13th – 15th century) in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Students will have the opportunity to get their hands on all of the aspects of the excavation process – from digging to documenting (drawing, photo documentation, total station, etc), from sieving and sampling to analyzing the material excavated (interpretation, flotation, cataloguing and so on). Students will learn about the complexity of archaeological excavation of a medieval castle.
