During the first week, the students will learn to use the different digital fabrication machines at the FabLab. At the same time, they will attend workshops hosted by renowned specialists and designers on digital fabrication applications.
In the second week, the students will propose a design for an object which they will fabricate digitally with the help of the professors and supervisors of FabLab. In addition, the students will visit design studios and institutions like MediaLab Prado as specialists in digital fabrication.
You will have the chance to create your own objects at the FabLab, which is part of the MIT FabLab global network and one of the best-equipped and most dynamic digital fabrication labs in Spain.

Target group

This course is addressed to undergraduate and graduate design students who already have a basic knowledge of design process, materials, and prototyping principles.

Course aim

In the Summer Course – Product Design II – Digital Fabrication Applications in Design, you will have the chance to effectively realize design prototypes through a variety of digital fabrication tools, from laser cutters to 3D printers.
