Ecological Inference: Deciphering Individual Voting Behavior from Aggregated Data

Political scientists, the media and political parties, among other actors, are interested in understanding the electoral behaviour of different subgroups of the population and in having estimates of vote transfer matrices at the global and local levels. Ecological inference provides an answer to this problem by exploiting aggregate data. In this course, offered by RECSM, we will show the most advanced techniques for deciphering the inference, focusing on the use of the R package lphom.
