This introductory undergraduate module offers a comprehensive exploration into the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically designed for students with diverse backgrounds.
Spanning a period of three weeks, participants will be introduced to fundamental AI concepts and techniques, ranging from basic machine learning principles to advanced neural networks and ethical considerations.

This module aims to:
- Introduce you to the foundational principles of AI in a comprehensive yet accessible way, with consideration of coding experience and mathematical ability.
- Familiarise you with essential concepts in supervised learning, unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning, computer vision and natural language processing.
- Enable you to understand, select and critically evaluate a wide range of AI techniques through interactive lectures, handsβon coding exercises and practical case studies.
- Equip you with the knowledge and skills to engage with AI technology, recognise the related ethical challenges and limitations and appreciate its impact on various industries.
- Promote development of practical skills in data preβprocessing, visualisation and AI model implementation and evaluation in Python through hands-on exploration of pre-written code.
