The HEIDELBERG HEALTH ECONOMICS SUMMER SCHOOL 2025 will offer an unsurpassed opportunity to learn more about the basics of cost effectiveness analysis (CEA) for health technology assessments (HTAs) and, in addition, to discuss key challenges and potential solutions in the context of (health) economic evaluation for use of HTAs to inform patient access, pricing, and reimbursement decisions including implications for research and development (R&D).
"The Basics of Cost Effectiveness Analysis (CEA) for Health Technology Assessment (HTA)"
This yearΒ΄s Basic Program will be characterized by its educational character, with a focus on state-of-the-art CEA in the context of HTAs. Relevant topics covered will be basic principles of decision analysis, valuation principles in economics, costing in theory & practice, applied CEA & budget impact analysis (BIA), good modeling practice, and dealing with uncertainty and sensitivity analyses.

The Summer School 2025 is aimed for academics (including PhD students), physicians & pharmacists as well as professionals.
With the Basic Program, we offer a highly active program primarily for individuals with limited experience of health economic evaluation methods, in particularly with regard to the basics of (the use of) CEA for HTA.
