The aim of the course is to introduce students to basic terminology and key areas of human resource management as an integral part of the comprehensive organizational management process. The course emphasizes understanding the strategic role of human resources and recognizing the importance of the human factor as a specific and hardly replaceable resource in contemporary society. Particular attention is paid to recruitment and selection, employee onboarding and adaptation, training and development, performance appraisal, motivation, and compensation, as well as to occupational health and safety (OHS) and workplace ergonomics. The course also introduces current trends in human resource management and its links to other managerial disciplines. During seminars, the topics are practiced in an interactive and engaging manner through case studies, brainstorming exercises, discussions, and role-playing, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in model situations and to develop their communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.

The second week will focus on occupational health and safety (OHS) and workplace ergonomics as essential components of effective management of working conditions. The course will emphasize interactivity, the completion of assigned tasks, and the active participation of students.
