Advanced Human Brain Models in the Single-Cell Era

Our summer school is designed for advanced master students and early PhD candidates, with the goal of introducing them to the rapidly evolving field of human brain modeling and single-cell technologies. The program brings together a great variety of expertise ranging from developmental and translational neuroscience to bioinformatics. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how human stem-cell–derived models and next-generation single-cell approaches are transforming our ability to study brain development and function in health and disease. Topics include brain organoid systems, single-cell transcriptomics and multi-omics integration. Through lectures, discussions, and hands-on data analysis, participants will gain the conceptual and technical skills needed to interpret and design next-generation human brain studies in the single-cell era

Our summerschool is aimed at advanced master students and starting PhD students interested in neuroscience with special interest in interdisciplinary research on human brain modeling and single-cell technologies

Course aim

The goal of this summer school is to teach and train students in recent advances in brain organoid models and single-cell analysis from an interdisciplinary perspective and in an interactive setting. Insight will be provided in recent experimental advances, state-of-the-art techniques and significance for disease.

Students will be have up-to-date knowledge on conceptual and technical developments in the field of human brain models and single-cell analysis. In addition, students will create a network of peers and PIs and develop personal skills (career choices, neuro-ethics)
