Summer School in Italian Language and Culture

About

Running from July 6th to July 31st, 2026, the Summer School in Italian Language and Culture at Ca’ Foscari School for International Education, Venice offers an intensive four-week immersion for international students, researchers and professionals. The programme is designed to improve language skills through a combination of rigorous academic study and direct engagement with the city's historical and cultural heritage.
The curriculum accommodates all proficiency levels from A1 to C2 (CEFR), with a study load of 50 hours for elementary levels and 70 hours for intermediate and advanced levels, both culminating in a final assessment. The weekly schedule consists of in-person lessons from Monday to Thursday, while Fridays are dedicated to two-hour cultural outings. These guided tours, led by instructors, allow participants to practice Italian while exploring iconic Venetian locations such as the Rialto market, the hidden corners of Dorsoduro, and the residential district of Castello.
Participants who complete the course receive a certificate of attendance and achievement, alongside a digital Open Badge. It is important to note that the programme does not award university credits (CFU). Enrollment is open from April 15th to May 29th, 2026, and is strictly limited to one level per participant. Final course activation remains subject to reaching a minimum number of registrations.
