During the summer school, ten professors of several engineering departments teach, providing an interdisciplinary technical and cultural flavor. After a brief motivating introduction on climate change and resources, the summer school emphasizes a variety of the most important renewable energy systems - photovoltaics, wind energy, hydro-electric-power and geothermal energy. Moreover, we discuss materials for energy efficiency, energy storage, power electronics and smart grids as well as wireless communication aspects and security problems with regard to renewable energy applications. Finally, related economical aspects like business simulations and intercultural aspects in project planning complete the program of the summer school.
The side program implies excursions that are of technical and cultural interest.

Target group

Undergraduate students in their last academic year and/or master students in the field of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied physicists, or similar from all over the world are welcome to apply.

Credits info

3 EC
Participants of the summer school receive a certificate that might be converted to credit points by their home university.

Fee info

EUR 350: The fee for the summer school program will be 350.00 €. Students from partner universities receive a discount. Their fee amounts to 200.00 €.
The fee covers course fee, the cultural program and a train ticket to get to Steinfurt. It does not cover travel, board and accommodation.
