Join this summer course and get a comprehensive and systematic overview of the most common procedures in the field of general surgery and the surgical sub-specialties.

The surgical summer course offers an introduction to medical education and simulation in Copenhagen. The course includes theory, as well as hands-on, practical skill development.

You will learn to perform suturing, and bronchoscopy. In addition, the course covers laparoscopy, where an entire day is dedicated to theory followed by a day dedicated to skill development with opportunities to practice surgery on pigs (both open and laparoscopic).

During the course, you also learn about communication skills focusing on both patient-provider interactions and teamwork in the context of surgical care. The participants are evaluated with pre- and post-tests.

Exchange students from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences', UCPH, partner universities can participate in this course free of charge, if they have been nominated by their home university. The course must be an integrated part of their study programme.

Scholarships

Novo Nordisk International Talent Programme (NNITP) offers a scholarship to incoming students from IARU universities or from Harvard University.

Application deadline is 1 April 2018. Please note that not all applicants will receive a scholarship.
