The Smart Cities course will help you to understand the current issues for urban living and development and highlight opportunities in delivering smart cities, drawing on different technologies, policies and practices.
This course will introduce you to social-ecological systems that aim to better understand current challenges and give you an insight into the social, economic and environmental factors that interconnect in complex ways. Digital platforms such as BIM (Building Information Modelling) and interactive virtual reality, environmental and social appraisal techniques and participatory approaches will feature as useful tools to aid decision-making and urban planning to create attractive smart cities.
Academic status: Practice-based (non-credit bearing)

Please note travel to the UK, visa costs and other personal travel and living expenses are not included eg evening meals. We suggest that students should budget a figure of approximately £10 - £50 per day for additional food and drink.
