Leadership in Nursing Excellence
Nursing and health care are highly challenged to provide excellent patient care through continuous improvements of processes and outcomes. Therefore, to achieve a resilient and adaptive organization that attracts and retains highly professional and skilled nurses and midwifes becomes essential. This summer school treats concepts and evidence on organizational context of nursing practice and illustrates how US Magnet® principles were implemented in a European health care system.
We provide 8 interactive thematic sessions with following topics:

Session 3 Learn, adapt and improve the Antwerp University Hospital Journey to Magnet®
Session 4 Practices and experiences in nursing excellence
Session 5 Team-based Learning and innovation
Session 6 Team-based leadership and interprofessional collaboration.

Session 8 Commentary and reflection

Target group
Graduates, postgraduates, and professionals in all domains of nursing and healthcare: acute and chronic care, mental health care, mother and childcare, residential aged care and home care.
Course aim
An interactive course that supports own reflections on leadership in nursing excellence. We provide necessary insights, evidence and tools how to build a culture of change in order to achieve and sustain high performances in your organization based on our Magnet® Journey experience and research program.
Credits info
3 EC
A certificate of attendance will be awarded upon successful completion of the programme and a certificate of completion (3 ECTS) in case of a brief assignment before the start of the programme and a paper focusing on one of the summer school topics after the programme,additionally.
To include the credits in the curriculum at the home institution, participants need an agreement with the responsible person at the home institution.
Fee info
EUR 450: Fee includes orientation and course material, coffee breaks, lunches and network dinner. Does not include housing.
Housing provided on campus Hotel Drie Eiken 5 nights see special prizes for participants.
