This multi-focus, cross-disciplinary course will explore various issues that are currently relevant to the environment in different regions of the world. These include air pollution, water pollution, global climate change, biodiversity, and others. Each issue will be examined first from a scientific perspective, and then from a human perspective.

This course is designed for university students who would like to learn more about environmental issues. Students with a background in science, engineering, economics, or international relations will find it relevant to their interests.

Course aim

After this course you are able to:
• Have knowledge of the basic scientific principles behind various types of pollution and other environmental issues.
• Understand the political, legal and economic issues that prevent humanity from effectively addressing these issues.

EUR 600: The fee includes the registration fees, course materials, access to library and IT facilities, coffee/tea, lunch, and a number of social activities.
