The Prado Museum Visual Arts Course is an intensive and rigorous project-based Art Immersion Course in Madrid structured around:
-The study of the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen Collections.( Titian, El Greco, Velazquez, Goya, Picasso, Dalí, Miró, etc.)
-Drawing practice in the Studio, at the Prado Museum and outdoors.
-A hands-on introduction to the Contemporary Art Market and how Art Gallerists operate.

Course leader

Pablo Alvarez de Toledo Müller. PhD. in Entrepreneurship and Contemporary Art, Nebrija University. MFA Yale University. BFA, The Cooper Union School of Art.

Art & University Students, Artists, Professionals and passionate Art-Lovers.

Course aim

-Participants will broaden their artistic education and vision through a comprehensive study of the Prado Museum Collections and some of Spain´s richest Historical and Cultural Patrimonies.

Participants will improve their drawing and visual literacy skills through intensive daily practice at the Museum, outdoors and in the Studio.

Participants will develop their creativity and critical thinking developing an artistic project based on the Prado Museum.

-Participants will learn the mechanisms of the Contemporary Art Market talking to Artists and Contemporary Art Gallerists.

-Participants will discover Spanish History and Contemporary society through a variety of fun activities and cultural excursions to World Heritage Sites like Toledo, Segovia and El Escorial.

Credits info

Credits will have to come from your home institution. MFAJ will be glad to sign a memorandum of understanding with your College or University to facilitate this. You will need to contact your Academic advisor to start this process because each Institution has different rules regarding credits.

Most likely you will have to register for your school’s fieldwork course and have our Academic Directors give you the grades along with your professor.

EUR 2990: Upon acceptance, participants make an Admission Fee Payment of 750€.
This Admission fee is deductible from the total cost of the program.

All fees are 100% refundable before the program´s start date due to the Program´s cancelation insurance.
