Upon completion of the training course, the participant is expected to:

This course is part of the The Summer School 2020 in Chania lasts for two weeks and includes 10 different courses, five in the first week and different five in the second week.
Each course has its scope, learning outcomes and learning content and it will take place in parallel with the other courses, in different rooms. Information on the specific courses can be found in their respective pages. However, the sessions that will be offered during the summer school will be different, they will include extra time for networking and common work between participants attending different courses, networking with local schools and organisations and exhibition area. The Summer School added value will be the informal and formal networking sessions, where the participants will have the chance to meet with colleagues from other countries, including participants from Crete and their learning experience will become richer. Specific time will be devoted to networking and design of common projects.

Course leader

Nikos Voyatzis. Educational designer and web culture specialist with working experience in cultural and media education. His expertise is in designing and instructing courses in the intersections of arts, humanities, science and technology.

Teachers and trainers in primary, secondary schools, vocational education schools and organizations, adult learning providers.

Fee info

EUR 420: Training Fee
The cost includes the attendance of one course (six days), the learning material and the certificates: Certificate of completion, Europass Certificate Supplement, Europass Mobility.
Coffee and snacks will be freely available at all times during the courses (Monday – Saturday) as a courtesy of IDEC. Coffee break includes two different types of coffee, assortment of tea, the Cretan tea “Malotira” with aromatic herbs, orange juice, assortment of cookies, cake and fresh fruits.
All costs can be funded by Erasmus+ programme KA1 mobility of staff.
EUR 280: Cultural Program
Includes (as all programmes in IDEC'S Summer School 2020)

Buffet lunch in “Mediterranean” restaurant during the six training days (Monday – Saturday). Buffet lunch includes: home made bread, house wine and local beverages, variety of salads, cold and hot plates, and desserts. All dishes are prepared in the kitchen of the Conference Centre, with organic olive oil and local and biological cultivated products and they respect the local gastronomy.
transfer to Chania old town, a walking tour and welcome dinner. The group will be transferred in the old town in buses, they will stroll around the old port of Chania and they will have dinner in a typical Cretan restaurant. Dinner includes variety of starters and salads to share, meat platters, house wine and dessert.
an excursion in the famous beach of Falassarna and a visit to Kissamos village, in the west Crete. The cost includes the bus transfer, it does not include dinner and other expenses. You are expected to bring your swimming suits, towels and good mood.
transfer to Chania and common farewell dinner. The group will be transferred in the district of Halepa and they will visit places of historical and touristic interest. They will have dinner in a typical Cretan restaurant. Dinner includes variety of starters and salads to share, meat platters, house wine and dessert.

In addition, the "World, our classroom" programme includes the following educational visits:
- Field trip to Herakleion and Knosos palace
- Field trip to historical places and traditional villages of Chania region (indicatively Therisos, Vamos etc)
- Field trip to a traditional olive oil factory
