The Children’s Literature Summer School offers lectures and workshops related to books for children and adolescents. Participants choose one thematic strand for the workshops: children’s publishing & book history, children’s literature and other media, or research methods.

Master and PhD students, but also open to more senior researchers and professionals with an interest in children’s literature studies. Participants should have at least completed 3 full years of undergraduate education (BA level) by the time of the summer school.
- To earn 3 ECTS students are required to attend the full summer school and submit preparatory tasks for the workshops (e.g. advance reading of books and articles, prepare a set of questions, complete small assignments). This option is not available to University of Antwerp students.
-To earn 6 ECTS students are required to attend the full summer school, submit preparatory tasks for the workshops and complete a 4000-word paper on a topic related to one of the thematic strands. To include the credits in the curriculum at the home institution, participants need an agreement with the responsible person at their university.
A certificate will be awarded at the end of the programme. All certificates of completion are issued as a micro-credential.
EUR 500: Fee includes course material, coffee breaks, 5 lunches, social activities, opening and closing reception and a farewell dinner. It does not include accommodation and dinners.
EUR 450: Register before February 1 and pay the early bird registration fee of € 450.
