Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The world is changing, and there are growing opportunities to make a difference and solve problems. This summer school helps you to learn the tools and techniques to create innovative solutions, build your skills and make an impact on employers in all types of organisations. Develop a business proposal and a business plan, and pitch to potential investors in a safe and supportive environment.
We welcome undergraduate students from any major who are interested in learning the tools and contexts they need to turn an idea into a business, startup, social venture or cause. You do not have to be a business or management major to attend this summer school.
Over the course of the summer school you will:
Apply theory, tools, techniques and skills to develop a robust enterprise plan
Investigate and evaluate different business models and environments for an enterprise
Reflect on the experience of developing an idea through to a potential startup within the course
Explain key theories and concepts in entrepreneurship
Engage strategic thinking to create a sustainable and successful entrepreneurial project.
Develop your transferable and career-ready skills including:
Working in a team to develop ideas
Researching ideas and concepts with potential customers
Building a business proposal and plan
Pitching your proposals to potential clients for investment.
10 University of Bristol credits, normally suggested as equivalent to 5 ECTS or 2.5-3 US semester credits.
GBP 2995: The programme fee includes:
All tuition and course materials.
Catered single-room accommodation, with breakfast and evening meals throughout the programme.
Industry engagement visits and sessions.
Supportive student mentors on call 24-7 and available to help with your questions and activities.
An exciting social programme, including weekend trips.
Several meals at restaurants across Bristol and as part of your weekend trips.
Transfers within Bristol from the airport, coach station or train station to residence on arrivals and departures day.
