Entrepreneurs in the digital industry have created powerful innovations to generate and process data, communicate globally, and improve productivity. Nevertheless, green sustainability is still an ongoing challenge. So far, the digital industry has overlooked the related environmental issues it has created - it accounts for 2% of all GHG emissions per year, as much as air transportation.

Target group

The Summer School is open to young professionals as well as Bachelor or Master students, who want to deep-dive in emerging digital technologies and learn how to turn these technologies into business. This will enable them to become innovators in the field of "Green IT", as designers/developers/others in start-ups or larger companies.

Course aim

It is time to unfold the potential of digital solutions in creating services contributing to the protection of the environment, developing responsible information and communication technologies, and designing products that, through their use and manufacturing process, are more sustainable.

Some of the topics that will be covered during the summer school are:

Internet surfing through sustainable websites
Fair and green mobile hardware technology and communications
Hardware and software durability, with standards for energy efficiency
