Our Neuroscience summer school uses a combination of biological and psychological techniques to explore the mysteries of the human brain.

Neuroscience is the study of the nervous systems, their component nerve cells and the functioning of the brain. How the human brain works remains one of the most intriguing of all scientific questions - can the brain understand the brain? Can the brain understand the mind? Is the brain a giant computer or something more?

At the School of Biosciences, we are finding answers to these questions through innovative teaching and world-leading research.

The Neuroscience Summer School offers an exciting opportunity to sample the curriculum of our BSc Neuroscience degree with lectures and workshops on a range of topics, including neuroanatomy, stem cells in neuroscience research, neuropharmacology, neurological disorders and bioinformatics.

Visits to the Cardiff University Brain Research and Imaging Centre, currently the second largest brain imaging facility in the world, and the Neuroscience and Mental Health Research Institute, will give you the opportunity to learn more about the ground breaking neuroscience research currently taking place in Cardiff.
