E-sports Management: The Worldwide Game Changer
E-sports around the world continue to become more commercialized as their popularity grows. It is important to understand how these organizations run as a business in order for them to maximize their profits and thrive in today’s global economy. This course is designed to introduce students on how to manage various aspects of the esport industry, including marketing, event management, careers, and revenue generation. Concepts such as the uniqueness of the esport industry that makes it different from traditional sports will be covered.

Target group
Upper undergraduate students and graduate students
Course aim
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
o Explore practical esports management skills.
o Analyze and critique contemporary esports management issues.
o Design new forms of revenue generation
o Explore and present a solution to a contemporary esports management issue.
o Critically discuss the esports ecosystem and how each part impacts other parts of the industry
o Describe the different types of games and events that are run across levels of esports competitions
o Demonstrate an understanding of the history of esports leagues and events and how they impact the current and future landscape
Fee info
EUR 500: 500 euros tuition fee for free movers + 100 euros administrative fee (all participants)
EUR 0: no tuition fees for nominated students from partner universities
