Fantastic opportunity to study In Venice in June 2023 at the European Cultural Academy. A 12-day program, with lectures and visits to Biennale of Art, museums, and architectural in collaboration with the University of Oxford. Students will explore the potential to learn from the past, together with present technologies and practice, in order to design healthier cities for the future; and to retro-fit today's urban spaces to cater for new sudden challenges and emerging stresses across the range of environmental, social and economic contexts. A key emphasis will be a focus on Venice, exploring how artists, architects, urban developers and denizens have responded to regenerate the built environment, and everyday urban living.

Course leader

David Howard is Associate Professor in Sustainable Urban Development at the University of Oxford, and a Fellow of Kellogg College, Oxford. He is Director of the Sustainable Urban Development Programme at the University of Oxford.

Target group

This course is for curious, ambitious minds that love architecture and art. Our participants come from all backgrounds and experiences. Architects, designers, students, and art lovers are welcome to join.

Course aim

EXPLORE ISSUES AT THE FOREFRONT OF CLIMATE CHANGE
This studio will examine the relationship between health and sustainability in Venice, a city at the forefront of climate change action.

DISCOVER THE VENICE BIENNALE OF ARCHITECTURE
You will visit the Venice Biennale. Tickets are included in the programme.

GET A CERTIFICATE FROM KELLOGG COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD AND THE PRINCE’S FOUNDATION.
All participants receive a certificate of participation from Kellogg College, University of Oxford and the Prince’s Foundation.
