Course aim

Students will develop a greater understanding of how to critically engage with the many opportunities of digital media, and how to apply new techniques in their practice. The course will focus on progressing from an initial idea to a concept that can be shared with others, enhanced through feedback, and developed into a moodboard and/or storyboard. Students will learn how to progress from their storyboard, think through exhibition formats and audience dynamics, and how best to structure interactive possibilities and accessibility. They will also be supported in developing their interests in digital media through weekly assignments and individual consultations. Group activities will explore the general themes and core issues of digital media, narratives and storytelling via case studies, discussions of assigned literature and critiques following individual assignments.
