The Institute for Theoretical Physics in Utrecht ranks among the leading institutions in the world in the field of theoretical physics. The target audience of this one-week course are advanced bachelor students in the field of (theoretical) physics, especially those who are preparing to start a Theoretical Physics master program, or are considering to do so in the near future.

The Utrecht University Summer School in Theoretical Physics is an advanced undergraduate course with the aim to give advanced bachelor students a flavor of the field of theoretical physics in general, and also what to expect in the Master’s Program of Theoretical Physics in Utrecht in particular. Topics include quantum gravity & string theory, cosmology, and quantum & soft condensed matter. All of these topics will be introduced at a basic level, while recent developments in the field will also be discussed. During the summer school, students will also work in groups on small projects and problems during dedicated problem sessions.
