International experts will challenge you to look beyond the accepted views on giftedness. Models and theories of giftedness will be discussed, with special attention for identification, prevention and intervention, like self-regulated learning, social and emotional development, different forms of enrichment and special classes and programs for gifted students.

Course aim

After this course you are able to:

1. Consider information about giftedness and talent critically.
2. Translate knowledge and abilities concerning identification, education and counselling of the gifted and talented to a scientifically based own assessment.
3. Recognize and (re)act to (psycho)social and biological factors that can influence the education of the gifted and talented.
4. Encourage expertise of co/leagues in gifted education and care.
