Social Traumas Living With Us
A unique opportunity awaits students of Budapest Summer University of 2023 on Social Traumas Living with Us — to learn about the depth and gravity of social traumas, their transgenerational transmission, their social constructions, and to dive into the social and individual consequences of different traumas such as the Holocaust trauma, trauma of social exclusion and marginalization, and the trauma of ongoing warfare in society. The course will explore those social contexts of memory policies in which they are constructed as well as those coping mechanisms which assist the survival on both the social and individual levels.
