Robot Interaction Design Experience

when 14 August 2022 - 23 August 2022
language English
duration 2 weeks
credits 2 EC
fee EUR 775

In this course we'll cover many different angles in robotics design; starting with brainstorming, ideation and scenario based design and working our way through prototyping, wizard of oz and user evaluation in order to get down to the nitty gritty of building your own first robot and controlling it using open source tools like ROS, raspberry pi, and Arduino and tools like our laser cutter, 3d printers and soldering irons. In the end, you will have built your own dedicated social robot.

Off course having some prior experience with hardware, 3D design and programming helps, but don’t get scared off, this is definitely not required! We welcome a group with broad and diverse interests and hope you can learn and strengthen each other within your team.

By the end of this course, we hope to provide you with tools to work and play with and of course, understand well the role that social robotics will play in our immediate future. We need creative minds on board to RIDE the wave of the future of robotics together!
