duration 2 weeks

This course is offered within the context of challenge-based learning. Participants will be divided into teams to tackle real-life challenge together with experts from their fields. They will be asked to design a complete wastewater treatment and re-use scheme for a decentralized industrial area. This industrial area consists of several industrial companies that currently use ground and potable water as their water source. Many users already treat their incoming water to their specific needs (e.g., hardness removal). After use, water with different pollutants is discharged to the sewage system, accompanied by a discharge cost for the companies. In your design take a multidisciplinary approach, tackling all technical, economic, environmental aspects as well as the overall governance.
