Between the 4th and 9th of July 2022, the first International Summer School of the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto will take place, with the theme “Sociology and Contemporary Social Dynamics”. Over the course of a week, will be discussed topics such as the Right to Housing and the City; Climate, Ecology and Sustainability; Feminisms and Gender Identity; Racism and Xenophobia; Precariousness and Social Inequalities. In addition to lectures and round tables, the program includes workshops, guided tours and cultural moments (theater-forum, performances, film, concert).

Target group

Candidates: anyone, from inside or outside the academy, Portuguese or foreign, with at least a postgraduate degree and interested in the topics covered.
Minimum number of 12 participants and maximum of 25.

Course aim

This school intends to contribute to the production of knowledge and the articulation between the academia, social movements and the third sector, through critical dialogue among participants, researchers and activists.
