The Summer School, organized by the GECOAGRI LANDITALY Interuniversity Research Group Association in agreement with the University of Foggia and APS, aims to promote awareness processes related to the water resource, using an interdisciplinary approach. The reality of Rieti becomes the undisputed protagonist as an open-air laboratory in which to critically observe the kaleidoscopic forms, actions and relationships that water systems offer in a dimension of sustainable development with regards to environmental, economic and socio-cultural aspects. The lessons will be held by university professors, qualified experts from different disciplinary fields and with a high international scientific profile. The objectives of the courses aim at acquiring in-depth knowledge and specific skills on the issues of water in relation to the environment (natural frameworks, opportunities and risks); to the territory (planning, management, development and control) and to the landscape (tourist, cultural and social enhancement). The educational activities will make use of innovative experiences through the use of new technologies, laboratory activities and scientific excursions in the Rieti area.

Course aim

The International Summer School “Water for life and sustainability” aims to investigate the water resource from an interdisciplinary and applicative approach, trying to explore the complex relationships between water, resources and the environment. The aim of the Summer School is to provide students, experts, interested people with knowledge and acquisition of application skills to understand the functions, management models, biochemical properties, different forms of water use and the complex relationships of human communities with the environment from multiple points of view (medical, tourism, ecological, cultural). The teaching activities, through an interdisciplinary approach, will make use of innovative experiences through the use of new technologies. At the end of the course the participants will have: enriched their knowledge and skills of the main themes and problems of water resources both in the environmental, economic, managerial and cultural areas using specific tools; acquired basic concepts and application skills to understand and interpret aspects of water management with a view to sustainability.

USE OF RESULTS AND DISSEMINATION ACTIONS: The materials produced by the participants will be enhanced through publications, exhibitions and other scientific activities of the GECOAGRI-LANDITALY Interuniversity Research Group

METHOD OF THE TEACHING: lessons online articulated in 4 days.
The last lesson consist of a Hydro-Virtual Tour, didactic-scientific excursion on the extraordinary hydrographic concentration present in the Rieti territory (Italy).
Augmented reality will be used on the three main areas.
