KTU Big Data School 2022 is both theoretical and practical scientific event aiming at updating participants about the most recent advances in the critical and fast developing area of big data, which covers topics such as big data and financial analytics, machine learning, big data processing, etc.
The event is concentrated towards deep theoretical background and improving skills during practical workshops.
The event will take place at Kaunas University of technology and is organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The sessions will be held at KTU Technology and Business Centre Santaka Valley.
There will be three sessions given by different experienced speakers involving lectures and practical tasks.

This year, three topics will be covered in depth (theory and hands-on sessions for each):

1. Tensorflow and Deep Learning. Lecturer Dr. Michael Fairbank (University of Essex, UK)
2. Forecasting with Millions of News Articles as Data: The Methodology Behind Conflictforecast.org. Lecturer assoc. prof. Hannes Mueller (Institute for Economic Analysis, Barcelona School of Economics, Barcelona)
3. High-Dimensional Macroeconometric Time Series Models: Big Data and Machine Learning. Lecturer assoc. prof. Christian Brownlees (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona)

One day is for one topic: approximately 6 hours per day.

Working programming language will be Python for all topics. Each lecturer has extensive experience in running theory and hands on sessions.

EUR 350: Early bird fee (until July 15th)
EUR 450: From July 16th to August 15th.
Late registration fee is 500 Eur (from August 16th.).
