when 24 July 2023 - 11 August 2023
language English
duration 3 weeks
credits 10 EC
fee EUR 691

The course focusses on new venture strategy as a focal aspect in nascent entrepreneurship. The course follows the typical life cycle of entrepreneurial ventures and the related gestation and entry activities. The content includes a deep theoretical understanding of the creation or recognition of new venture opportunities, venture planning, evaluation of opportunities, development of holistic business models, and establishment of new ventures even “against all odds”. This course is not about business planning. Instead, its perspective is on strategic challenges, entrepreneurial methods (e.g. lean start-up tool sets), and resources all especially designed for new ventures. The content accordingly includes but is not limited to opportunity creation or identification and evaluation, market entry, uncontested distribution channels, blue ocean strategies, called calls in b to b, regional growth methodology, value creation, entrepreneurial finance, managing growth and exist strategies. New aspects of digitalization are also included. Students learn to apply methods like Opportunity Diamond, Market-opportunity-Navigator, Give-and-Get / Risk and Reward Matrix, RWW-Screaning, Guerilla Marketing, Osterwalder’s Business Model Canvas, COSTAR Method in designing business models, Leschke’s Business Model Map, constructing and deconstructing financial impact of business plans and business models (financials), bootstrapping, business angels, venture capital, crowd finance and many others.
