The aim of this course is to teach people to analyze their everyday environment; How cities work, what kind of flows we have in a city and how city planning accounts these phenomena. We also try to find different solutions on how to a better city for its residents. The core is, of course, sustainable development.

Contact teaching in Turku 5 August – 16 August. The start and finish of the course is completed online.

Target group

Undergraduate students with at least two years completed of Bachelor’s studies in any field. Course is suitable to any students who are interested in Urban planning.

Course aim

- The students are familiar with the basics of urban planning and urban structures. Students know the effects of habitability of an area and the role of green area development on landscaping.
- The students can estimate the effects of construction in the urban areas and be familiar with Finnish town planning system.
- The students are also given tools to implement sustainability in to planning at urban areas.
