This introductory course addresses the concepts of sustainable energy and the application of existing technologies that use natural resources and are sustainable. To do this, the course examines current energy needs and their impact on resources, reserves and the environment. Then, it analyses the different renewable technologies available, analysing and calculating the stocks and explaining how the technologies work and their impact. Finally, the course looks at how to financially assess these projects, taking in to account externalities. It also examines different funding mechanisms.
