This PhD level course is open to all researchers aiming at bringing their research to the next level. It is particularly designed for those who have an interest in interpretation as an analytical competence and/or as an object of their own study. The course speaks to beginners of the discipline and is primarily aimed at social science students such as ethnography, anthropology, political science, sociology, international relations, public administration, public policy, public health among others. The course is organized around the typical steps of a research process - from how to formulate an interpretive research question to how to present and document interpretive analyses.
After this course you are able to:
- Operationalize interpretive research questions
- Select and collect material for interpretation
- Analyze material using interpretive strategies
- Condense and present interpretive analyses
