The objective of the course is to provide knowledge and introduce practical skills in order to develop digital games. Participants learn to use one game development environment (e.g. Unity).

Upon completing the course the student:

– can develop simple digital games;
– knows the basic functionalities of one game development environment (e.g. Unity).

– game development process
– overview of game development tools
– introduction to selected environment (e.g. unity)
– general layout of the working area and tools
– recommended workflow
– creating game objects
– creating gameplay
– 2D game creation
– animations
– physics
– UI

Course leader

The course leader Associate Professor Martin Sillaots is teaching Game Design, Computer Graphic and Research Methods in Tallinn University.

Target group

Previous game design experience is useful but not mandatory.

Upon full participation and completion of course work students will be awarded 2 ECTS points and a certificate of completion.
