“Smart cities” is a rapidly growing concept both in research and in public policy practices. It considered the main solution enabling cities to better address key societal challenges such as energy transition, mobility, transport and social innovation.
This unique Summer School will provide comparative perspectives between European and South African experts. Participants will explore the challenges to tackle in both developing and developed countries regarding to Smart cities global trends.

Course aim

During this summer school, participants will study «Smart Cities" through specific themes such as innovation public governance, tomorrow’s digital city (artificial intelligence), traffic management and intelligent transport or even the innovation in the building sector.
This summer school, aimed at Master's students, Doctoral students, professionals from the private and public sector, will be an opportunity to discuss with international professors, researchers and experts from local and regional authorities.
