The Design Summer School '23 theme FLOW is aimed to explore nature’s cycles, heighten our awareness and draw our attention to the tension between restriction and freedom, stagnation and activation, collapse and succession. During the three workshop weeks, the theme will be unpacked through an interdisciplinary teamwork method blending architecture, psychology, anthropology, technology, design, art, dance and performance.
The second FLOW workshop led by Lia and Jan, will be dedicated to METABOLISM with special attention to natural rhythms, recline and regrowth, comings and goings, day and night — ebb and flow. This week evolves around observation and immersion in nature thinking about moments of the day, recurring patterns, restoring balance and how we are all a part of a greater whole. Works by land artists, filmmakers, architects, designers, and writers will inspire our creative work, along with deep curiosity about nature itself.
